Steuart's Calf-Aid
Steuart's Calf-Aid is a buffered electrolyte for
weak or scouring calves formulated for high energy, fast
rehydration and recovery. Calf-Aid contains the essential
electrolytes in the proper proportions to replace fluid volume &
electrolyte depletion caused by diarrhea.
It is not necessary to withhold milk when using Calf Aid. Calf Aid can be mixed and fed with milk/milk replacer.
Calf Aid is beneficial when transitioning calves from whole milk to milk replacer. Use one scoop per two quarts of milk replacer until the calf has transitioned
Indications: Administer as a nutritional supplement to calves experiencing dehydration from scouring or other stresses.
Directions: For best results feed the calf one heaping scoop of Calf-Aid (64grams) in milk/milk replacer. If milk is being withheld from the calf feed one heaping scoop (64 grams) of Calf-Aid in 2 quarts of warm water at each feeding. For faster rehydration feed one scoop of Calf-Aid in 2 quarts of warm water between regular feedings. Allow at least 2 hours between feeding milk/milk replacer and Calf-Aid in water.
Contains:
* Sodium and glucose are balanced for maximum energy absorption.
* High Electrolyte concentration
* Electrolyte balance in equal proportions to electrolyte loss caused by diarrhea
Note: It is possible to feed Calf-Aid in milk or milk replacer because it contains no citric acid and will not cause the milk to curdle before it is fed.
